Proposal preparation

This section contains information that may be useful when putting together a proposal for funding under the Ridge 2000 program.

Important : Proposals should be submitted to the annual NSF Ridge 2000 deadline which is January 15 (this is a firm deadline, not a target date).

Letters of interest

Letters of interest are strongly encouraged from investigators, especially those contemplating work at Integrated Studies Sites. Letters of interest will be posted in the relevant section of this website to facilitate interactions between all scientists interested in the Ridge 2000 Program objectives.

Relevancy review

The relevance of your proposal to Ridge 2000 Science Plan goals should be explicitly discussed in the Project Description. The NSF/R2K Review Panel, convened a few months after the submittal deadline, will look specifically at this aspect of all proposed projects. The R2K Steering Committee Chair will provide an update on program priorities to the panel at the beginning of their meeting. These priorities will be based on the Science Plan, Community Meeting report findings, and Steering Committee discussions.

Important: In order for the program chair and oversight committee chairs to stay apprised of community interest in various aspects of R2K research, and to aid integration between potential projects, we request that you submit an electronic copy (pdf format) of the Title, Project Investigators, and Project Summary, within TWO WEEKS of submitting your proposal to NSF.
