Thermal Regime of Ocean Ridges and the Dynamics of Hydrothermal Circulation
September, 2002
Pavia Italy
InterRidge, Ridge 2000 C German, J Lin, W Wilcock Theoretical Institute addressed geological controls of seafloor hydrothermal venting: How does hydrothermal activity transfer heat from lithosphere to hydrosphere? How do hydrothermal vents, their heat and chemical fluxes, vary in time and space? How are these variations related to the geology of the underlying crust/lithosphere?
MoMAR II Workshop
June, 2002
Horta Azores
InterRidge, Ridge 2000 InterRidge Monitoring and Observatories Working Group The main goals of the second MOMAR (Monitoring the Mid-Atlantic Ridge) are to a) establish a plan for the development and installation of an ocean-bottom observatory along the Mid Atlantic Ridge south of the Azores, and b) to identify the required scientific and technical support required to operate and manage the projects, data and instruments involved in the MOMAR observatory.
