Steering committee
The Ridge 2000 Steering Committee (STCOM) represents the broad community of scientists interested in the Ridge 2000 program. It sets directions and priorities for Ridge 2000 activities in response to community input and ensures that activities are carried out in a timely and effective manner. Members of the Steering Committee normally serve a three-year term, during which time they will also serve on one or more committees overseeing specific aspects of the program. STCOM meets twice a year to review and plan program progress.
The Ridge 2000 Executive Committee (EXCOM) is a subset of the STCOM. It provides the Ridge 2000 chair with ongoing support and advice and is active year-round.
Steering committee members
Donna Blackman
Donna Blackman uses a variety of geophysical data/methods to study mantle flow and lithospheric evolution along ridge-transform plate boundaries. Her observational background includes data acquisition and analysis of morphology, acoustic backscatter, gravity, seismicity, and teleseismic travel-times. She often employ numerical simulations of deformation in the upper mantle and crust to guide the interpretation of these data.
