| The Research Vessel (R/V) Atlantis, operated by the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, is the support ship for the deep-sea submersible Alvin. Alvin has made nearly 4,300 research dives over the last 42 years, and this cruise is scheduled to add 24 more dives to the total. |
